When ordering from Vinci & Rakos * Who Makes Sense?, the objectives are to provide quality products, help you choose fragrances and formulas that fit your needs, provide excellent customer service, and recommend efficient and cost effective delivery.

Four (4) Ways to Place Your Order

Please note that we indicate a subtotal on your initial order confirmation. We do this so we can determine which shipping service is the most efficient and cost effective delivery for your area. We calculate the shipping charges based on the weight of your package and not the dollar value of your order. We believe this approach is fair to the client. Your credit card will not be charged until your order is ready for shipment. If we have any questions with your order, we will either call or email you to discuss. A final invoice will be included in your package along with your credit card receipt.

Payment Options

Credit Cards: For your ordering convenience, we accept Visa, Master Card, American Express and Discover on our secure server. If your Credit Card is declined, we will notify you either by email or phone. At that time, we can review to make sure that you entered the Credit Card number, expiration date and security code correctly. You can also submit a different credit card for your purchase. If you feel that your credit card should not have been declined, we suggest you call your Credit Card Company to determine the problem. Credit Card companies decline credit cards for many different reasons, but basically it is for your security and protection, as well as ours.

Checks/Money Orders/Casher Checks: We also accept personal checks, money orders and cashier checks in US Dollars. Please make checks, money orders and cashier checks payable to Vinci & Rakos or Who Makes Sense? Sorry, we do not ship orders COD. Personal checks, money orders and cashier checks have to clear before we can ship your order, which can take up to 7 days after receipt of payment. If you pay by check and your payment does not clear, you might be assessed a $25.00 service fee, if our bank initiates a fee against our account.

Website Security

Communications between the client’s browser and our site’s web server are secure and private. We take every precaution so information and transactions cannot be viewed or intercepted by an outside party. A site is secure when you click on the checkout button and the http changes to https. This means you have been transferred to a secure server. Please note that credit card numbers are never stored on our computers.

Shipping

Orders are processed and shipped 6 days a week — Monday through Saturday, excluding major holidays — unless other arrangements have been made. Please note that orders received on Saturday and Sunday will be shipped the following Monday. Orders are usually processed within 24 hours of receipt. The exception would be if we are developing custom blends or conducting personal shopping for the client which might make the process longer.

Please note that our shipping charges are based on either USPS Priority Mail or UPS Ground Track, the weight of your package and its destination. USPS Priority shipping usually takes between 2 -3 days within the continental USA. Good News! USPS (The Post Office) now offers Flat Rate Priority Boxes in many different sizes which helps to reduce shipping costs and delivery time. USPS Flat Rate Priority Boxes are the favorite way of shipping orders through Vinci & Rakos and loved by the clients.   NOTE:  Since we have more shipping options available than can be indicated on the website, we will make ever effort to reduce the charges of your packages and the cost will be reflected in your total.

Before preparing or shipping any International orders, we need to review the different shipping options and charges with the client before we complete your order.

Shipping Insurance, Signature Confirmation & Lost or Damaged Packages

Insurance on USPS domestic orders is optional for the client. USPS will not replace or reimburse for lost or damaged packages unless insurance is purchased for packages. If requested, insurance will be added to your invoice, based on the value of the order.

UPS offers insurance on damaged or lost packages that are valued at $100 or less. If you order is over $100, and you would like additional insurance, we will notify you of the cost.

We waive signature requirements for delivery of packages, unless requested by the client. If requested, the USPS fee is usually $2.75 which will be added to your invoice

Vinci & Rakos * Who Makes Sense? is not responsible for packages once they have left our facility, however, we will work with you and USPS or UPS to rectify the situation.

Handling

The charge for handling is $5.00 but will increase for larger orders, oversized items and baskets which will be priced accordingly. Handling for large baskets usually runs between $10.00 to $15.00.

Sales Tax

We are required by law to add sales tax (8.0%) to each order shipped within California. If you are shipping a package to any other destination in the United States or Internationally, sales tax will not be charged on your purchase.

Product Availability/Substitutions

We will do our best to honor any items ordered, however, due to the availability of products, fragrances, gifts, packaging and baskets, substitution of items may occur, especially when preparing Gift Baskets or Gift Boxes. We will advise you if the substitution is significant.

 

Product Pricing

Please note that retail pricing does not include shipping and handling. Prices are subject to change without notice. However, we will do everything possible to let you know as quickly as possible if changes are made. We apologize for any discrepancies caused by typographical errors, and we reserve the right to correct them. We are not obligated to sell items at miss marked prices. We apologize and will make every effort to avoid any such errors.

Back Orders

Please note that on rare occasions, items may not be available to ship at the time of your order. If this happens, we will notify you before we ship the rest of your order. If you agree that we should put the item on backorder for you, we will ship your item immediately upon availability. If we are unable to ship the item within a reasonable amount of time, we will notify you.

Gift Wrapping and Charges

Gifts ordered from the Gift Box and Gift Basket sections on the website have the Gift Wrapping included in the pricing.

You can order Gift Wrapping for those products that you want to send to a friend or family member as a gift. The Vinci & Rakos Gift Boxes are elegantly wrapped with beautiful, wild-crafted raffia, silk flowers and adorned with a personal gift card. The inside of the Gift Boxes contain natural straw that surrounds your gift lovingly, accented with crushed natural flowers with a sprinkle of scent beads. Your gift can be beautifully wrapped in either a Gift Box or Gift Bag depending on the size of your gift. We will determine the size of the box or bag necessary to wrap your gift. Therefore, your cost for gift wrap may vary from your original order total. Gift Wrapping charges usually range from $2.50 to $9.50. Specialty Gift Boxes, Travel Cases and Memory Boxes will be priced accordingly, as well as oversized packages. When ordering a Custom Gift Basket, the pricing of the Gift Wrapping is included in the basket chosen for your items.

Gift Certificates

Gift Certificates can be purchased in two ways: Paper Gift Certificates and E-Gift Certificates. Please note that any additional charges, such as product purchases, taxes, shipping and handling incurred over the value of the certificate, will be added when the recipient redeems their certificate. Please remember to give us the proper email address, shipping address, telephone and message when ordering the certificate.

Hand Delivery Information

If you live in the Palm Springs/Coachella Valley area, personalized delivery by messenger is available. Delivery charges are in addition to the cost of the gift purchased and are determined by the distance. Please note the following conditions:

• We need the phone number of the person who will be receiving the gift so we can call and make arrangements for delivery.

• There will be a charge for a second delivery charge if the recipient is not home when we arrive.

We will make every attempt to leave the gift with a neighbor or leave a note on the recipient’s door so they can call us to arrange a re-delivery. If instructed by the purchaser to leave the gift at the recipient’s location, Vinci & Rakos * Who Makes Sense? will not be responsible if the gift is damaged or stolen.

Corporate Clients

Let us create custom gift basket or gift box designs for your company or organization. We can work with you to help capture and create your image perfectly.

Personalized Shopping

If requested, we will shop for those special items that we do not normally carry. The cost for this special service is $35.00 an hour with a two hour minimum, plus 15% of the cost of the purchases.

Samples

We do not offer free samples, due to the volume of requests. However, we do offer a Vinci & Rakos Parfum Sample Program at a reduced cost which is a great way to experience over 200+ Vinci & Rakos Parfums. Each sample is a full-bodied, undiluted Parfum with no added alcohol or extenders.   Seven (7) Pafums of your choice are packaged in a drawstring, organza bag and a cello wrap. The Parfums are presented on individual vial cards so you can record your comments and keep track of your personal preferences. Vial size is a 1/6 dram with plug and tiny dip wand for ease of application.

Returns and Exchanges

If you wish to return or exchange your purchase, please notify us beforehand so we can discuss your problem and understand why you were not pleased. This will help us with future orders. Call 1-800-545-4332 or 760-898-9228 or email dolores@vinci-rakos.com), so we can discuss your issues.

Returns: We stand behind the quality of each of our products. If a product or gift item fails to meet your expectations, you can return it to us. The item must be sent back within 30 days from date of purchase or receipt, if a gift. Please repack your order and ship by USPS insured or UPS for your protection and to insure prompt return. We will refund or credit the value of the item and any taxes you were charged. Please make sure to send us your name, address and phone number when returning. Exchanges:Exchanges of products are available up to 30 days from date of purchase or receipt, if a gift, as long as items is in saleable condition. You can exchange the item for another item of the same value or more provided you pay the cost difference and/or additional shipping/taxes/and import duties, if necessary. Return your repacked order and ship by USPS insured or UPS for your protection and to insure prompt return. Please make sure to send us your name, address and phone number when requesting an exchange. Note that shipping and handling charges are not refundable. Your Privacy

Please note that we value your privacy and business so we do not share our client information with anyone. We collect the information for the purpose of invoicing, billing, shipping and our periodic mailings.

Mailing List

If you are not currently on our mailing list so you can receive updates, new product launches and promotional activity, please let us know, and we will include you. We just need your name and email address which you can send to us at dolores@vinci-rakos.com. We do not share your information with anyone.

Dolores will touch on the most often asked questions, introduce new products, describe new fragrances and give helpful hints on her Seasonal Newsletter which can be found on the Home Page of the website.
